SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County (AHCMC) and BlackRock Center for the Arts are seeking artists who live in Montgomery County for exhibits in their respective galleries. This Call to Montgomery County Artists is for the purpose of creating shows in the Terrace Gallery at BlackRock in Germantown and the Betty Mae Kramer Gallery and Music Room in the Silver Spring Civic Building at Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring. Artists who respond to this call may request a show in one or both of the galleries.
Exhibits in the Terrace Gallery at BlackRock will be solo shows for two months each. Exhibits in the Kramer Gallery will be small group shows lasting for two to three months. A jury of individuals who are independent of both BlackRock and AHCMC will select the artists who will participate in shows from July 2012 – May 2013.
