Bartlett Fined By FEC

U.S. Rep. Roscoe G. Bartlett was fined for filing "incomplete" and "inaccurate" campaign finance reports, The Baltimore Sun reports.

The Republican incumbent running for re-election to Congress was fined $5,000 by the Federal Election Commission, The Baltimore Sun reported Sunday.

U.S. Rep. Roscoe G. Bartlett was fined for filing “incomplete” and “inaccurate” campaign finance reports. He has received 25 letters from the FEC since 2009 — more than any other current member of Congress, The Sun reported.

The 10-term congressman to represent Maryland’s 6th District. But in his run for an 11th term, Bartlett must now consider Montgomery County as part of his district because of redrawn boundaries.

“All this is old stuff. We had a lot of stuff to get straightened out from the past and we're doing that. When we learned there were problems with it, we dealt with it. And there was no intentional wrongdoing. We're not trying to hide anything."
