Baseball: Northwest Plays For State Title Friday
Jaguars face Arundel on Friday at Shipley Field, at University of Maryland, College Park
Northwest’s baseball team will make school history on Friday — its first-ever appearance at a state baseball championship.
Fresh off their defeat of Sherwood (7-6) on Tuesday, Northwest will face Arundel at Shipley Field, at University of Maryland, College Park. Game time is 2:30 p.m.
The Jaguars have made it to three region championship games but had never advanced to a state semi-finals game, according to the school’s athletics department.
Excitement is already brewing.
Northwest students hoping to attend the game will be excused from afternoon classes Friday if they bring a note to their administrator prior to the game, Northwest’s athletic director Jim Tapley posted on the athletic department’s website.
Tickets cost $8 can be ordered online through the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association’s website.
