Brunswick Line Track Repairs Begin Monday

CSX workers are replacing the wooden crossties between Germantown and Brunswick.

Train commuters can expect delays on MARC's Brunswick Line due to track work between Germantown and Brunswick starting Monday, Sept. 17, state transit officials said Tuesday.

CSX workers are replacing the wooden crossties that secure the steel rails to the ground, transit officials said.

The crews expect to work from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, which could delay trains leaving Union Station at 3:30 and 3:45 p.m. Passengers can also expect 5 to 10-minute delays due to temporary speed restrictions after work is completed, MARC officials said in a transit alert.

The work is expected to last two weeks.
