Free Sign Language Lessons at Germantown Library

Sunday sessions begin April 7

Germantown Library will offer free sign language sessions in April.

The five Sunday sessions—Sign Language Practice for Beginners—begin April 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. and continue through May 19, county library official announced Monday.

No sessions will be held on April 14 and May 12.

Co-sponsored by Montgomery County Public Libraries, the series is funded by the Montgomery County Association of Hearing Impaired Children.

Instructor Susan Gershowitz hopes to help people with a basic knowledge of sign language expand vocabulary and conversation, and practice what they learn, county library officials said in a press release.

Registration is limited to 30 participants and is available on the library website at www.montgomerycountymd.gov/library — under Library Events Calendar.

To request disability accommodations, contact the Germantown Library at 240-777-0110.
