Germantown’s resident major league eater Juliet Lee announced plans to enter the World Chili Eating Championship on Sunday, Oct. 9, part of the inaugural Taste of D.C.
According to the event’s website, the person who downs the most Ben’s Chili Bowl chili wins $1,250. The eat-off is sanctioned by the International Federation of Competitive Eating.
Lee, a local hair stylist who moonlights as a competitive eater, recently placed sixth at the 2011 U.S. Chicken Wing Eating Championship, having consumed 3.89 pounds of buffalo wings in 12 minutes, according to the official results.
