Germantown Oktoberfest is Moving to Clarksburg. Should It Matter?
Organizers cite space constraints and costs for moving; at least one vendor has pulled out of the festival.
It’s official. Germantown Oktoberfest will not be held in Germantown this year but will instead be held at High Point Farm in Clarksburg.
The free festival is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 6.
Organizers told Patch that parking issues and cost were reasons behind the decision to move. But at least one vendor, the Germantown Historical Society, has pulled out in protest.
Patch asks — is this a big deal? Should the Germantown Oktoberfest be held in Germantown? Or do you think the move will make for a better experience?
