Adventist HealthCare officials were joined by state, county and local officials for the groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday at Shady Grove's Aquilino Cancer Center. Faye Bildman, second from left, has been honored with the "Going the Distance" award. Bildman, a Bethesda resident, was nominated by the community and has chaired the local Rally for the Cure tournament for the past 15 years – raising almost $175,000 for breast cancer research.

Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown gave the commencement address for the class of 2012. Wheaton High School's commencement ceremony was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington D.C.
