An Olney boy, not quite 3 years old, is dead from drowning in a pool at his home, police said. He was being supervised by a caretaker. 

Fire and rescue units responded to a home in the 17200 block of Sandy Knoll Drive around 11:44 a.m. Monday and found a neighbor giving the boy CPR. 

He was transported to a local hospital, but efforts to save him failed. 

A spokesperson for the department said the circumstances of the drowning are under investigation.
