Police: Charges Pending Against Teen in Germantown Shooting

A fight over a female may have sparked the initial conflict.

(Updated 11:30 a.m.) Charges were pending against a teenage male for the nonfatal shooting of a 20-year-old man in Germantown, Montgomery County Police Cmd. Luther T. Reynolds said.

The shooting victim was wounded in the leg after a fight at Brandermill Drive and Drumcastle Terrace on April 11.

Reynolds said the suspected shooter was allegedly beat up by the 20-year-old after the shooting.

Police made contact with the shooting victim and the suspected shooter at the hospital, Reynolds said.

Initial reports were that the incident stemmed from a fight at a nearby basketball court that arose from a prior conflict.

Investigators have since determined that the fight may have been over a female, Reynolds said.

Further details were unavailable at the time of this report.
