National Weather Service: Severe thunderstorms could produce damaging wind gusts, isolated tornadoes

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Montgomery County until 7 p.m.

Today’s forecast called for showers and thunderstorms ahead of a cold front, severe enough to produce damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes between noon and 6 p.m., according to the NWS.

Forecasters said the thunderstorms could be severe and could produce damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes.

In an alert, Montgomery County officials advised people to stay inside and to not use highway overpasses as shelters in the event of a tornado.
