Joey Moeltner making his first start of the season pitched six plus innings with only one hit. A pitchers' duel till the fourth inning, the Jags got on the board when Joey Brauch reached on base on an error and later scored on a Scotty Ardoin single. Gaithersburg squandered all their opportunities but having some timely defensive plays was the difference. The Jags had a couple double plays and a web gem from Anthony Vattuone that saved a few runs going across the board. The Jags added an insurance run in the seventh inning when Scotty Ardoin lead off with his second single of the game. Anthony Vattuone SAC bunted Scotty to second base and reached third on a wild pitch. Max Banks hit a deep fly ball to right field that scored Scotty to close out the inning. Max Banks back in relief for Joey shut down Gaithersburg to close out the game 2-0. That puts the Jags 6-2 on the season heading into Saturdays game against second-place Quince Orchard at the Black Hole at Jag Field. Start time 10 a.m.
