C. Muncius, if that America never existed- can we now stop hearing how bigoted America is/was/always…Read More has been?
Thought not.
Truth is, the real bigotry is in rewarding people that broke into the nation as their first act here rather than rewarding the people that struggle for years to come here legally.
Kinda like refusing to let a loved one come over to visit yet giving a burglar the deed to your house...

I would like to know how many illegal immigrants are voting in Maryland elections, as the Motor…Read More Voter law has enabled them to register to vote. This all benefits the Democrat Party, who's officials are more than happy to give out more and more government cheese.

Ddad99 - Where in the Motor Voter law does it allow non documented people to vote? Would you prefer…Read More that non-documented people not be required to pass the MVA driving test?

Thousands are being bussed in? Who's paying for this? While I'm not confident that immigration reform will ever get to Obama's desk, having a bunch of ignorant white fools show their ignorance about immigration reform might help the measure get more traction.

Good comment Costco. I thought you would have to get out if your car to raise the Hood? Maybe…Read More eliminate that step and call 911 and just sit tight be safe. Your car is protection in crash.

Struck by vehicle technically is a pedestrian type accident but most are recorded as a number of…Read More other types. It was often a fatality cause for police officers-It's why they now pull off at an angle.
Losing engine power hinders brakes, steering, forward motion, etc. Stopped in the travel lane-my advice-Stay In Your Car-kepp your seat belt on. Stopping parallel to a guardrail traps a colliding vehicle into a direct hit to the rear, if you are in front look for an ambulance-you'll need one after the idiot texting rams you. Get on the other side of the rail. Stay there.
Watch the video-World's Worst Drivers. Officers with traffic stop-driver comes by sideswipes officer, vehicle stopped-drivers slam police car, sending it into stopped vehicle. Some years ago-first female-black Virginia State Trooper stops to assist bus on Rt 66 -BLAM, driver plows into her -dead on the spot.

We need some relief from the current (not to mention the future) congestion on our roads and BRT is…Read More a viable solution. Plus, as Kelly points out in the article, access to BRT includes better walkways and bikeways, so these areas will also be improved as BRT is implemented. It really provides an upgrade to our multi-modal transportation goals. Let's amplify the ways that people can get around!

Nope. This is another liberal brain fart. The red line already runs the exact route. Taking away…Read More lanes and peoples property is NOT the answer and the notorious bad projections by 'planners' is evident here. NO BRT, NO more $$$ for feel good ideas that taste like red ink! Grow up and live in the real world.

Comparing cars to buses and claiming there is some analogy between the three as far as pedestrian…Read More safety is ridiculous. First, there are millions of cars and thousands of buses. Second, according to the state MVA web site pedestrians are responsible for 70% of all fatalities involving pedestrians being struck by vehicles. If that's true then the analogy is beyond ridiculous, it's simply a falsehood.

Here's the problem: The Fourth Amendment makes enforcement a real pain in the neck. This is not…Read More unique to accessory apts, but applies to any house turned into a rooming house illegally. Sure, you can start out with a legal accessory apt, but when you retire to Florida, and leave behind a bunch of college kids in your house, it's very difficult to prove a violation. Hard to get a warrant. Hard to do anything if when the authorities come to the door, you don't let them in. So, the best answer is to not start down this road in the first place. Keep single family homes single.

I agree with you that you could end up with a terrible tenant but this is true of any rental…Read More property, illegal or legal. As the article mentions, there are lots of good reasons for having a legal accessory apartment. By getting the proper approvals, you not only avoid problems with county officials, you also get the back up of the court system when tenant issues arise. If you are going to be out of town, I strongly urge you and anyone else to seek the services of an experience property manager. They should be able to handle any of the issues you mentioned plus a whole lot more. Then again, being a landlord of an accessory apartment, or any other property for that matter, isn't for everyone.

What is the difference between a politically charged link or study and a government charged...bought…Read More and paid for scientific study result..?
Chris W May 27, 2013 at 02:07 pm
Buck, the so called "Autisim link" with vaccines has been thoroughly disproven. The…Read More article you cite is based on junk science. There was only one study that showed a link and it was simply because the "scientist" falsified the research.
A ocomplete history is linked below:

People cling to the one fake study because they want to believe there is a link. I think the sleep study issue is a bit different.

No you're right jag how could I be so foolish. All we're doing is adjusting for inflation....of…Read More course. Owe'malley's campaign theme for 2016 can be "let me do to America what I've done to Maryland". According to your link MD is still in the highest 25% of states in taxes. Taxes don't rise with inflation like goods and services do for your information. If that were the case they could only go up and never down. Or maybe that's the way you want it.
jag May 23, 2013 at 06:31 pm
Amark, you appear to be confused. "Taxes don't rise with inflation like goods and services do…Read More for your information." No, when they are a percentage, they don't need to rise with inflation. However, when a tax is a set $ amount, e.g. a 20 cent fuel tax, the buying power of that 20 cents continues to degrade, over time, according to the rise in inflation. Hence the need to raise the tax from time to time (20 years was far too long to wait). Alternatively, you can simply peg the tax to inflation so it automatically adjusts, which is what the GA (smartly) decided to do this time around. Get it now?

BURGERS IN MODERATION
As a big fan of burgers, I have found that you can appreciate burgers even…Read More more if you eat them periodically rather than chomp them down every day. I look forward to every burger I eat because it is a treat rather than a daily habit. My waistline would be even bigger if I consumed burgers every 24 hours. The reason that we have so many "fatsos" plodding the streets of Downtown Bethesda is because too many Bethesdans are hamburger- addicted, requiring their daily Burger-Fix. So, make your "way" to the Salad Bar rather than to the Burger Joint,

Vegan burgers. I won't support the dastardly meat industry. Vegan burgers are very low fat with zero…Read More cholesterol, and there are more varieties coming down the pike all the time. Thanks so much for providing this information, I am sure it will be helpful for lots of people.…Read More Unfortunately, lots of consumers just lack financial literacy and don’t know basic things about their credit. Before applying for a loan check your credit score to understand if you have a chance to be approved. Order a copy of a credit report because it should not contain any mistakes. If you are going to use http://northenloans.ca/short-term-loans.html then it can be easy but if you are going to take out a low interest personal loan then keep in mind that it can be a long process and you need to get ready for meeting a lender.
