Fiber art is a style of fine art which uses textiles such as fabric\, yarn\, and natural and synthetic fibers. It focuses on the materials an d on the manual labor involved as part of its significance. \; It in cludes anything made of fiber\, from quilted pieces to sculptural works\ , using sewing\, weaving\, wrapping or similar techniques to create work s that are either two- or three-dimensional.\nBlackRock&rsquo\;s goal fo r this exhibit is to promote local area fiber artists and give East Coas t collectors an exhibit of exceptional quality. Founder Jodi Walsh first started this exhibit at APEX Gallery in Washington DC. The exhibit was reviewed by The Washington Post and grew into an outstanding exhibit. Th e Smithsonian supported the exhibit by giving annual tours to their coll ectors.
