Community Shred and Food Drive

  • Description:  All shredding will be done on site. There will be free food and drinks. Come play the MAFCU Plinko board for a chance to win a prize, or get a balloon animal made. Bring a nonperishable food item for Manna Food Center and help fight hunger in Montgomery County.

Little Bennett Elementary School PTA Yard Sale

  • Description:  Little Bennett Elementary School PTA Spring Yard Sale featuring a "green" theme.  The Yard Sale will be held in the LBES All Purpose Room and Gymnasium--so the event will go on rain or shine.

Ben’s Run

  • Description:  5K timed race, 1 mile fun run, all to raise money for the Children’s Hospital.

Azalea Classic 5k 2013

  • Where:   University Park Elementary, 4315 Underwood St, University Park
  • When:  Saturday, April 20, 8 a.m.
  • Description:  12th annual Azalea Classic 5k, proceeds go to University Park elementary school PTA.
  • Cost:  $20

Wootton Center for the Arts Presents Ragtime Show

  • Where:  2100 Wootton Pkwy, Rockville
  • When:  Friday, April 19, 7:30 p.m.
  • Description:  Ragtime featuring the hard work of nearly 200 Wootton students. Based on E.L. Doctorow’s novel of the same name, Ragtime.
  • Cost:  $10

8th annual Kensington Day of the Book Festival 

  • Where:  Kensington Day of the Book Festival, 3786 Howard Ave # 3716, Kensington
  • When:  Sunday, April 21, 11 a.m.
  • Description:   Family-friendly street festival celebrates the International Day of the Book in historic Old Town Kensington.  Over 100 local authors, poets, publishers, literary groups, and community organizations line Howard Avenue for three blocks.  Live music featuring The Nighthawks and Atomic Swing Club, and others. Author readings, poetry open mic, chess playing, food trucks, free books, rare book evaluations, art exhibits. Children's Program includes storytelling, fun with math, art activities, magical story times, a miniature horse, a scavenger hunt, and more

Churchill High School Presents Peter Pan the Musical

  • Where:  Winston Churchill High School, 11300 Gainsborough Rd, Potomac

  • Description:   Churchill High School presents Peter Pan April 19-21.

Bethesda Literary Festival

  • Where:  Bethesda Library, 7400 Arlington Rd, Bethesda

  • Description:  Downtown Bethesda celebrates the diversity of modern literature by presenting the 14th annual Bethesda Literary Festival from Friday, April 19 – Sunday, April 21, 2013.
