Gingerbread House Contest

 We are seeking out confection creativity from children, businesses, & organizations for our Gingerbread Contest.  Try your hand at creating a delicious masterpiece out of gingerbread, icing, & any other edibles you can think of. If you like sweets, architecture, holidays, or just trying something new, this contest is for you.

 Official Rules & Conditions:

  1. This contest is open to businesses, organizations & individuals. Your creation does not have to be a house. It can be a barn, church, castle, some other structure, or even a local landmark.

 2.        Creations must be set up at Germantown Commons starting at noon on December 17th, 2011.   Creations will be displayed until 2:00 p.m. with judging starting at 2:15 p.m.  Your creation will be on display until after the judging and then must be picked up immediately following.

  1. Attach a 3" x 5" card listing the title, your name and address to your creation. Also, attach a list of any edible items used that may be unusual or need explanation.
  2. Creations must be constructed mainly of gingerbread and icing.  Gingerbread Kits are fine too.
  3. The majority of the visual display must be made of edible materials with the exception of the surface it is mounted upon.
  4. All creations must be mounted on a rigid piece of plywood no larger than 24" x 24".
  5. Children's category entries should have a base appropriate to the size of the gingerbread house. Base should not exceed 20" x 20".

 

  1. Creations are judged on the following criteria: overall appearance; originality; creative impression; and difficulty. All rulings by the judges are final.

 

Entrants agree that their name, photograph, and photo of creation may be used for publicity or advertisement without any compensation to the entrant.

 

Competition Categories:  Gift Certificates will be awarded as prizes.
