Germantown Library Hosts Free ADHD Program

Program is first of three at county's library branches

Germantown Library will kick off a series of free programs throughout the county on attention deficit hyperactivity disorders.

Joan Palmer, an accredited ADHD and life coach, will lead a presentation titled “What is Adult ADD?” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. May 2 in Germantown.

Janette Patterson, a social worker, will lead the workshop “Parenting the ADHD Child,” which will include information about symptoms of ADHD in children and coping strategies for parents to support their children at home and advocate for them at school.

Patterson’s workshop is scheduled for:

  • 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at Marilyn J. Praisner Library, 14910 Old Columbia Pike, in Burtonsville.
  • 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7 at Quince Orchard Library, 15831 Quince Orchard Blvd, Gaithersburg.

Patterson and Palmer are board members of the nonprofit Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorders.
