Grab & Go Kids Planner: April 27 - May 3

Looking for something fun to do with the kids? Here are this week's best bets for Germantown families.

This is a good week to enjoy a concert, explore Maryland, take one last hop down the bunny trail, and get hooked on fishing.  Enjoy these fun activities this week:

BACH2ROCK BAND SHOWCASE
Enjoy performances by elementary, middle and high school bands.
Where: Lakefront Plaza, Washingtonian Center
When: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 29
Price: Free   


Everyone is invited to have fun and explore more than 400 scheduled events and activities.  The campus will be broken into six areas of exploration: Science and Tech Way, Ag Day Avenue, Arts Alley, Sports and Rec Row, Biz and Society Hill and Terp Town Center.  Alumnus Jeff Kinney, author of the "Diary of Wimpy Kid" series, will be on hand to speak and sign books.  Plan your day here.

SATURDAY MORNING FAMILY TIME
Preschoolers and their families are invited to enjoy this special story time together.

MUSIC TOGETHER
Children,  ages 4 and younger, and their caregivers can enjoy learning about music through songs, movement and activities.  Call 240-777-0196 for more information.

GET HOOKED ON FISHING
Bring the kids ages 12 and older (along with your fishing tackle!) to this workshop. Learn how to choose good fishing holes, tie reliable knots, and cast your line.  Dress for the weather. 
Where: Black Hill Regional Park, Boyds.

4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 30
Price: $20 ($16 for Friends of Black Hill)


This is the last weekend to enjoy a tractor-driven hayride, hunt for Easter eggs, play in the hay romp and castle, and swoop down the giant slides.

Price: $6 for adults, $8 for children. Food and additional activities extra.

TINY TOTS
This half-hour puppet show is designed for children ages 4 and under.  Saturday's performance is "Baby Bear's Birthday."  Sunday's show is "Penguins' Playground."  Reservations are strongly recommended, call 301-634-5380 to reserve your tickets.

MAKE-IT TAKE-IT EVENTS
Decorate a T-shirt or apron (Saturday), make jewelry (Sunday) or create a Mother's Day card (Tuesday).  Sunday's event is for ages 14 and older; the other events are for ages 3 and older.

STEPPING STONES STORY TIME
This fun and interactive story time is for children age 5 and younger.
