BlackRock Names New Executive Director

Krista Rimple Bradley, a former program officer with the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, begins at BlackRock on Monday

Krista Rimple Bradley has been named the new executiuve director of the BlackRock Center for the Arts, beginning Monday. BlackRock officials made the announcement Wednesday.

Bradley, a former performing arts program officer with the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, replaces Charlotte Sommers, who is leaving the Washington area after a four-year stint, BlackRock officials said.

Bradley worked with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, Washington Performing Arts Society, the Walker Arts Center and Harlem Stage on programming, and audience and community engagement initiatives. She has directed national and regional arts programs for OPERA America and the Wallace Reader’s Digest Fund and held management positions with both Houston Grand Opera and Virginia Opera, according to BlackRock.

She holds a B.A. degree in Literature and Society from Brown University.
