Diwali, Sunday Liquor, Job Tips and More ...

We started this week by looking back at the weekend's community festival at Button Farm Living History Center, during which the center's director received an award.  Patch celebrated Diwali with County Executive Isiah, Ike, Leggett. He then proclaimed Nov. 8 as Diwali Celebration Day for the County. 

In light of the The MOMS Club of Germantown's annual Preschool fair, our parenting columnist highlighted some important questions to keep in mind when selecting a preschool for your child. Later, we took a look at evaluations in math curriculum for County students. 

In other news, Patch got a local perspective on the housing market in Germantown. Later, the library hosted a job search workshop addressing resumes, interviewing and personal strategy.

Patch sat down with County Executive Isiah, Ike, Leggett to hear about County issues. Turns out, he's considering privatizing liquor stores and is still unsure how allowing liquor sales on Sunday will affect the County's financial climate.
