"Doubt, A Parable" Opens Today at BlackRock

The Upcounty Theatre production continues through Sunday, Aug. 14.

Upcounty Theatre’s production of  “Doubt, A Parable,” opens 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at BlackRock Center for the Arts. Shows continue 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14.

In John Patrick Shanley's powerful drama, which takes place at a Catholic church and school in the Bronx in 1964, a relatively new parish priest, Father Flynn, is accused of "improper relations" with a student. The school's principal, Sister Aloysius quickly takes matters into her own hands to have him removed.

Tickets will be available at the door beginning one hour before show time. Tickets cost $13; $11 tickets for seniors and students 17 and younger. For discounted group ticket rates, call 301-972-2832.
