Reel Water Film Festival

Did you know that at any given moment, half of the world’s hospital beds are filled with people suffering from water-related diseases?  Or that 1.8 million children die every year as a result of diseases caused by unclean water and poor sanitation, amounting to around 5,000 deaths a day?  How about the fact that water-related disease is the second biggest killer of children worldwide, after acute respiratory infections like tuberculosis?

YOU GET THE POINT, RIGHT? THIS IS A BAD SITUATION, and we want to do something about it!  So on June 16, 2012, Journey's Crossing and Food for the Hungry are hosting the Reel Water Film Festival as a way to raise awareness of this situation and take it one step further by actually doing something about it: All proceeds made from this festival will go directly to clean water projects in Olivero, Dominican Republic and Matictic, Philippines!  How cool is that?! A festival that not only raises awareness about an issue, but actually DOES something about it.
