Relax with Chaise Lounge at BlackRock

BlackRock Center for the Arts provided the following information:

(Germantown, MD)— Close your eyes, listen closely to Chaise Lounge, and you’ll think you’ve been transported back to Capitol Recording Studios circa 1962. You might call it “Early Stereo.” Or perhaps Lounge with a capital “L.” The six Washington, D.C.-based artists of Chaise Lounge perform sparkling arrangements of both standards and original tunes.  Made up of five of the Washington area’s top jazz instrumentalists--Charlie Barnett, Tommy Barrick, Gary Gregg, John Jensen and Pete Ostle—and gifted vocalist Marilyn Older, Chaise Lounge will take the edge off the end of the work week.

This is the final “Third Thursday at the BlackRock Bistro” concert of the season.  The concert is in BlackRock’s Studio Theater, which is set up with bistro tables for a nightclub vibe.  Beer, wine and munchies are sold throughout the evening, and audience members are welcome to bring dinner with them to enjoy.  Chaise Lounge, and all “BlackRock Bistro” performances, are sponsored by Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union.
