Blues Hall of Famer Sets Tour Date at BlackRock

Grammy-award winning bluesman John Hammond has booked a 2013 date at , as part of a tour coordinated by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation.

The Jersey City acoustic blues guitarist is scheduled to perform April 26, 2013, the Mid Atlantic Foundation announced Friday.

Hammond is a 2011 inductee into the Blues Hall of Fame. His most recent release, Rough & Tough, earned him a 2010 Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album.  

He was one of several artists featured on Blues Explosion, the 1984 Grammy Award winner for Best Traditional Blues Recording.

Other artists on the Mid Atlantic Tour program include Red Baraat, a North Indian rhythm out fit set for a Nov. 30, 2012 show at Prince Geoerge’s Publick Playhouse. Emerging jazz artist Stefon Harris is scheduled for a series of shows in College Park in April 2013 and is expected to return in May for the DC Jazz festival.
