Washington Sculpture Group's "By the Numbers" exhibit explores the places where art, science and math meet. Works will be on view at through Friday, Sept. 30.
The show was curated by Claudia Rousseau, an internationally published scholar and recognized critic, curator and art consultant in the Washington region. Peices in the three-dimensional exhibit express numerical sequences, intervals, number theories, and geometry — both abstract and organic.
The Washington Sculptors Group (WSG) is a volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting awareness of sculpture and fostering exchanges among sculptors, sculpture enthusiasts and the public. Organized in 1984, membership has grown to include almost 400 area artists. The WSG sponsors frequent public programs and organizes professional sculpture exhibitions juried by prominent curators.
