Montgomery College Crunch Time

This week at Montgomery College: Snow closings, Late start class registration, and Student welcome week.

Hello Montgomery College Germantown campus students!   Welcome to another week’s Montgomery College Crunch Time for the Germantown campus.  It’s the end of the first week of Spring 2011 semester classes, and school has already been cancelled due to inclement weather.

Contact your professors for information on make-up plans due to the snow.  You can register for the MC Alert program to get up to date information on school closings by text message or email.

This coming week, Montgomery College Germantown will be hosting Student Welcome Week scheduled to start on Tuesday, February 1.  The date is subject to change due to the recent school closings.  Student welcome week will feature information for students on MC services and student resources, and will have a variety of opportunities to learn about Montgomery College and the Spring Semester at MC.

Are you interested in blogging?  Montgomery College is now accepting applications for the MC Student blogger program; the deadline is Tuesday, Feb. 1.  Students would write regularly on their experience as an MC student with all posts displayed on the MC website starting in early February.  If you’re interested in applying, more information along with the online application can be found here.

Saturday, Jan. 29 Montgomery College Rockville campus will be hosting the play ‘Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing’ at the Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center.  Recommended for ages 6 and up, ‘Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing’ is a great family friendly way to get rid of cabin fever from the snow.  ‘Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing’ is described as being a “… hilarious musical about sibling rivalry based on Judy Blume’s classic children’s novel.”

Not busy enough this semester?  Late start classes are available to fill your schedule at Montgomery College this semester.  Late starting classes can be found here, and offer students an opportunity to cram those class credits into your semester’s schedule.  If you’re short a few class credits to be eligible for transfer or a degree, late starting classes are a great way to fill your requirements.

That’s it for this week at Montgomery College Germantown campus.  Campus will be reopening and resuming operations once weather permits.  Check back next week for more happenings and news from Montgomery College Germantown campus!
