‘Sheila the Great’ Opens BlackRock Children’s Matinees

Musical adaptation of Judy Blume novel debuts Oct. 6

BlackRock will stage its first Saturday children’s matinee of the season, “Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great,” a musical based on the Judy Blume novel.

Showtime is 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, preceded by a free pre-show party with arts and crafts and a snack, according to BlackRock.

The show was produced by ArtsPower, a New Jersey-based touring company that specializes in kid-friendly shows. Through music, the play chronicles the ups and downs of 10-year-old heroine Sheila Tubman, who's on a journey of self-discovery.
