○ Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: As a page working in the Maryland General Assembly, Christopher Henry serves as an aide to state representatives including his own senator, Nancy King. Shining with intellectual curiosity, Henry, 16,  said the experience has been exciting so far. He is living with a family in Annapolis during the week, with a curfew of course (he doesn't like that part).

After having lunch with Nancy King and Mike Knapp, Christopher said he has been surprised that representatives can be so down-to-earth. He was also surprised to even see some parallels between life in the GA and his own school life.

"My friends and I were joking that it reminds us of high school," Christopher said, referring to a session he attended, "because everyone is on their phones and Facebook and no one is paying attention."

Regardless, Chrisopher said he has been learning a lot about the process of law, the impact of local issues, and the faces behind making the changes, including testimony from the community.

"You just don't understand how things effect everyone," he said. "It was cool being able to see how things actually work."

After high school, Christopher plans to study economics and pre-law, but he has not yet chosen where he wants to go.
