Panera Bread Moving to Bigger Location

The new site will be at 19955 Century Blvd., next to the Greene Turtle.

The Panera Bread at 19820 Century Blvd. in Germantown closed in May and is expected to reopen down the street later this summer.

The new site will be at 19955 Century Blvd., next to the Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille, and will join other popular restaurants in the Germantown Town Center East area, said Peter Henry, co-founder and chairman of Henry Investment Partners LLC.

Panera moved in order to provide more space for customers, said Jenny Hurley, marketing manager for the Maryland franchise. In addition to more space, the new location will feature a large patio.

Hurley said the old Panera location could be replaced with a Corner Bakery Cafe, though she said that has not yet been officially confirmed.
