Mt. Airy Resident Amber Racine, Esq. Installed as 2013-2014 President of Barristers' Association of Philadelphia

Raynes McCarty attorney Amber Racine, Esquire was sworn in earlier this month as the 2013-2014 President of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia. The Honorable Jacqueline F. Allen administered the oath at The Union League before a large audience of lawyers, judges, friends and family.

As an affiliate of the National Bar Association, the Barristers’ Association is an active participant in a community of practicing black lawyers, judges and law students nationwide with a network of nearly 1,000 lawyers and jurists who serve at the highest positions in the private and public sectors of the legal profession.

In her role, Racine, a Mt. Airy resident, will lead the organization’s mission to address the professional needs and development of black lawyers in Philadelphia, to promote African American youth awareness and career opportunities in the legal profession, and to increase citizens’ awareness of their legal rights.

An attorney at the Philadelphia plaintiffs’ civil litigation law firm Raynes McCarty, Racine represents clients who have been severely injured by negligence and unsafe products.

Just this month, The Philadelphia Tribune named Racine one of Philadelphia’s Most Influential African-Americans. In 2012 and 2013, Philadelphia Magazine recognized Racine as a “Super Lawyer – Rising Star,” an award bestowed upon the top 2.5 percent of attorneys 40 years old and younger in Pennsylvania.

Also in 2012, The National Bar Association presented her with a Presidential Award for her service to the organization. In 2011, The Legal Intelligencer named Racine a “Lawyer on the Fast Track”, a prestigious award reserved for outstanding young attorneys.  In 2010, The Barristers' Association of Philadelphia honored Racine with the President's Award for her outstanding service.

Among her other professional accomplishments, Racine is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's House of Delegates; a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice’s Board of Governors; and a member of the University of Pennsylvania American Inn of Court.

She is the co-author of two books, “The Library of Pennsylvania Personal Injury Forms” and “Pennsylvania Causes of Action”, published by The Legal Intelligencer.

Racine received her law degree from the Temple University School of Law and her B.A. degree in History & Politics from Drexel University where she was an A.J. Drexel Scholar.

She is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
