It's official Elevation Burger is open for business in Germantown.

Before the opening, Elevation Burger founder and CEO Hans Hess told Patch that socially conscious eaters share the broader concerns of all burger buyers: “Does it taste good?"

So now that it's official, we ask you, Patch readers, "Does it taste good?" Post your reviews below as comments.

Sooo glad to see this here. We visited the new location in Germantown since it is 10 minutes down the road from us. We were excited because we had been to the one in Potomac many times -loved it best burger in the county by far! So we get to the Germantown location and note something terribly different- a huge conveyor belt with employees chizzling the blackened burgers off. GROSS. HUGE difference than Potomac you will have the burnt taste in your mouth all day. Ironically the store manager made a huge fuss saying how they can do 40 some odd burgers in the time that it takes the Potomac location to do 6. We will gladly take the grilled burgers anyday.

Staff was friendly....but they still have a ton of bugs to work out....one of the "runners" brought us our meal and spilled HOT fries all over my lap....he was very apologetic but I would have thought that would have warranted a gift card of some sort?? And this wasn't a kid, this was a grown adult which I am guessing was a manager. Our order was wrong, as well, and it took awhile before our shakes came out. Again, lots of bugs to work out but we will return in a few weeks.

Love this place and the fresh ingredients! Great veggie burgers too. Happy that Gtown is finally getting a "healthier" restaurant.

What I liked: -hi-tech soda machines -french fries -diverse choice of toppings What I didn't like: -way too greasy (I like *some* grease but my burger was over-saturated with it) -confusion with how the food is delivered (do we pick it up at the register or wait for them to come to the table?) -the staff were screaming people's names as they walked through the restaurant, while delivering food; it was kind if distracting and became disruptive after a while -toppings were sloppily dumped onto my burger so there was an unequal distribution -two patties on one burger was too much; however, you can just order the kids burger which has one patty I'll go back but not for a few months. I'd rather just go to Five Guys. At the end of the day, fried beef is fried beef.

I loved the taste of the hamburgers, but a little too greasy. I liked the this size of the fries, but the staff has not perfected it. They were way to greasy. I did NOT like the overall experience. There were WAY too many staff behind the counter. Utter chaos! There must have been 18-20 staff trying to make each hamburger. Too many Cooks In The Kitchen. The poor dears were confused about the orders. I even saw a hair on one that was being made. The employee saw my facial expression but was scared to disgard it. His manager acted as if he wanted him to serve it anyway. The young man trashed it despite what the manager said. I told him that he did the right thing. They really need less employees with more experience!

I couldn't have put it any better than what these ladies said: What I didn't like: -way too greasy (I like *some* grease but my burger was over-saturated with it) -confusion with how the food is delivered (do we pick it up at the register or wait for them to come to the table?) -the staff were screaming people's names as they walked through the restaurant, while delivering food; it was kind if distracting and became disruptive after a while -toppings were sloppily dumped onto my burger so there was an unequal distribution I did NOT like the overall experience. There were WAY too many staff behind the counter. Utter chaos! There must have been 18-20 staff trying to make each hamburger. Too many Cooks In The Kitchen. The poor dears were confused about the orders. They actually gave my order to someone else. Do I need to go any further???? Five Guys I am so sorry for abandoning you for a fleeting moment. Forgive me Five Guys????? lol

Yes, they have some "opening" kinks to work out but I think one of the major draws to this place should be the fact that their beef is 100% organic/grass fed/free range. After watching movies such as Food, Inc. and Fast Food Nation I'm more concerned about the type of meat I'm eating. If you don't care then go to Five Guys and eat their hamburger which was voted "unhealthiest fast food burger." I hope everyone will give Elevation Burger a chance :)

The *type* of meat they serve is definitely a selling point. But I don't believe you are eating healthier @ Elevation Burger. Their burgers are greasier than Five Guys or any other burger joint I've been to.
Kelly Reed June 30, 2011 at 01:27 PM
That is true—they are much greasier. My feeling is, it's great that the their beef is 100% organic/grass fed/free range, yada, yada. BUT, if you're gonna eat a hamburger, "Just eat one," and move on! It's not particularly the healthiest choice regardless. So, if you want one, have one. I just hope that Elevation Burger get's their customer service together.

I think they will. I'm glad Germantown is getting more food options in general.

We were going to try it for lunch today because of the organic beef. Now...I don't know.
Monica August 07, 2011 at 12:32 AM
So...we went here today and it wasn't an awesome experience. It was interesting to have to fill out a "form" that was in duplicate to place our burger orders...one per burger. Seems to me that a place advertising organic beef would be more environmentally conscious. When I shared this with the manager, I was told that they were going to try to start using iPads but this is what they are using now. I was disappointed. There were entirely too many people standing around behind the counter doing nothing. I thought it was very odd. Once we found a seat it was a bit disruptive to have someone yelling our name out while walking around the tables looking for us. The burger was VERY greasy. I got the child's burger because I only wanted one patty and my husband had the normal burger. The fries were my favorite part. They were very thin and exceptionally tasty. We were dripped on by the condensation on the air conditioning duct work above our heads so we had to move around a bit but I'm sure that's something which will be dealt with as they get the bugs out. All in all...we don't eat many burgers and just wanted to try this place because it's new and organic. We've decided that the next time we want a burger...we'll go back to Five Guys.

My husband and I went there Sat. around 6:00pm. This was our second time since they opened and I think they have improved a lot. They didn't have too many cooks, the fries had a lot less grease, and the line moved quickly. The lady saying your name and bringing you your food...I thought was a nice addition. She was super sweet and even came by our table a few times taking away our trash. She was very nice to everyone and kept the place clean.

That's the super nice lady from Safeway. She told me she stopped working at Safeway last week. She will be missed there as she is always so lovely and helpful.
