Quilting for Soldiers and Kids with Cancer
Where:  Mother Seton Parish, 19951 Father Hurley Blvd, Germantown
When: 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3
Description:  Quilting group meets twice a month to work on projects for Quilts of Valor

Rockville Town Square Ice Rink Grand Opening
Where: Rockville Town Square, 200 E. Middle Lane, Rockville
When:  6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2
Description:  Reopening celebration includes laser and fireworks show, music, entertainment and giveaways.
Cost: Ceremony is free to attend; ice skating: $7 (ages 12 and younger); $ (ages 13 older); $3 skate rentals.

Family Fun Day
Where: Montgomery College, 51 Mannakee St, Rockville

Description:  An official Help the Homeless Community event, benefiting The National Center for Children and Families (NCCF) and The Dwelling Place.  Event includes caramel apple making, moonbounce, face painting,crafts, games and more.

Pleiades Jewelry and Metal Arts show
Where:  The Woman's Club of Bethesda, 5500 Sonoma Road, Bethesda

Description:  Women’s jewelry and art from metal artists and jewelers.

The Big Apple Turnover and Rummage Sale
Where: 9 a.m. Saturday Nov. 3
When:  Christ Episcopal Church, 4001 Franklin St, Kensington
Description:  Homemade apple treats for sale as well as rummage sale that includes clothing, toys, books, housewares and more.
Cost: Free

Keb' Mo'
Where:  Music Center at Strathmore
When:  8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3
Description:  Guitarist/singer/songwriter performs music that ranges from jazz to soul to pop.

Fall Fling

Description:  Wine tasting, local food, live music, fun for kids and more.

Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless' 2nd Annual Silver Spring Help the Homeless Community Walk
Where: 10220 Sligo Creek Parkway, Silver Spring
When:  Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, 1 p.m.
Description: Community walk to help raise awareness about homelessness. 
Cost: $20
