Fewer Montgomery County Eateries Make Post's Top 40 Picks For DC Diners

Montgomery County wasn't as well represented as last year in the list of essential dining for Washingtonians.

Three dishes from Montgomery County restaurants are among 40 that "Washingtonians shouldn't live without."

The Washington Post's released its list of "40 dishes Washingtonians shouldn't live without in 2013" on Thursday.

The fried chicken with spiced salt and basil at Rockville's Jumbo Jumbo Cafe and the Mongolian beef with cumin at Joe's Noodle House, also in Rockville, both made the list.

The fried potato tots at  was also listed.

Post editors taste tested dishes at restaurants throughout the DC region to develop the list, sifting through hundreds of reader nominations.

The three were the only county restaurants represented this year, a departure from last year's list, in which significantly more Montgomery County restaurants were spotlighted—from Potomac and Gaithersburg to Silver Spring.
