Germantown ‘Gurgitator’ Takes Second at Hot Dog Eating Contest

Juliet Lee ate 33 hotdogs in 10 minutes

Downing 33 hotdogs in 10 minutes has earned Germantown’s resident competitive eater, Juliet Lee, a second place finish at an international hot dog eating contest in Coney Island.

Known as "The Gurgitator,” Lee, a 45-year-old mom and salon owner, competed at Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest, which was broadcast on ESPN.

Lee came in second to another Washington-area eater, top women’s finisher Sonya Thomas, 44, of Alexandria, VA, who downed 45 hotdogs, a women’s world record, according to the group that sanctioned the event, International Federation of Competitive Eating.
