Germantown Man Charged With First-Degree Murder for Tuesday Stabbing

A Germantown man has been charged with first-degree murder, following the death of Kevin Alfred Mbayo late Tuesday.

James E. Biddinger, 27, of Germantown, was arrested without incident and is being held on a no-bond status, Montgomery County Police said Wednesday.

Fifth District officers responded at around 11 p.m. Tuesday to reports of a stabbing at a townhouse in the 13000 block of Country Ridge Drive, and found Mbayo, 22, stabbed in the torso.

He was taken to Suburban Hospital, where he died.

Police said Biddinger had fled to a nearby shopping center and called police.

The death is still under investigation. Anyone who can provide information is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
