Man Struck by Car, Killed in Germantown

Police said the accident occurred at Germantown Road and Aircraft Drive this morning, just before 1 a.m.

A male pedestrian was struck and killed by a car this morning in Germantown, at Germantown Road (Route 118) and Aircraft Drive.

Officers from the 5th District and Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service personnel responded to the intersection at around 12:50 a.m., Montgomery County Police said in a press release.

Police said the preliminary investigation revealed that a young adult male was crossing the southbound lanes of Germantown Road and was struck by a silver 2000 Lexus ES 300 that was traveling south.

The driver of the Lexus remained on the scene.

The victim was transported to Suburban Hospital where he died from his injuries. Police said his identity will be released after family members have been notified.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating the collision.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed this fatal pedestrian collision to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 301-840-2435. Callers may remain anonymous.
