MTA: ICC Tolls Here to Stay
In December, Montgomery County Councilman Phil Andrews (D-Dist. 3), of Gaithersburg, called on the Maryland Transit Authority to reduce the toll fees on the Intercounty Connector, Patch has reported. Well, the Maryland Transit Authority responded to Andrews proposal: “We respectfully decline the proposal to modify them at this time,” The Gazette reports. Maryland Delegate: School Resource Officers Should be in Elementary Schools
A state lawmaker from Baltimore County wants Maryland elementary schools to have school resource officers—armed police officers—in the aftermath of the Newtown shootings, several media outlets have reported. "As a police officer, we're trained to protect the public and now you have a first responder in the school, right there when it happens. I think it's just important to do," Del. John W.E. Cluster Jr. (R-Dist. 8), a retired police officer, said in an interview with Fox 45 in Baltimore.
