 Movie Night under the stars
Seneca Valley High School’s PTSA is sponsoring Movie Night Under the Stars from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, June 10, with a free screening of “Monsters, Inc.,” rated PG. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, and picnic basket and enjoy the movie on the football field. A concession stand will sell pizza, hotdogs, popcorn, candy, chips and drinks. Genticorum performs
Genticorum will offer thier own interpretations of traditional Québécois folk songs at CD release show in Rockville. The trio performs 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Saint Mark Presbyterian Church, as part of the Institute of Musical Tradition’s summer music series. Tickets cost $20 in advance, $25 door or $15 with a student ID. BSO ends season with Requiem
Marin Alsop and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will conclude its season with Verdi’s tribute to Italian poet and novelist Alessandro Manzoni. This arrangement of Requim is scored for an expanded orchestra, off-stage trumpets, four vocalists and a large chorus. 8 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at The Music Center at Strathmore,

Meet the man who will soon run Montgomery County’s public schools
The Montgomery County Board of Education invites the public to meet the incoming superintendent of schools, Dr. Joshua P. Starr, before he officially starts the job July 1. The meet and greets are scheduled in the cafeteria of Richard Montgomery High School, 250 Richard Montgomery Drive, Rockville, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, and at Montgomery Blair High School, 51 University Blvd. East, Silver Spring, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 15.
