Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect Until 9 p.m.

Storms could produce 1 to 2 inches of rain an hour.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Montgomery County through 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The storm could produce 1 to 2 inches of rain an hour, which could lead to flash flooding, according to the NWS.

A flood warning had already been issued for areas along the Potomac River near the Little Falls region in Montgomery County and Fairfax County, Va., and in parts of Western Maryland and West Virginia.
