Thunderstorm Watch in Effect Until 10 p.m.

Conditions are favorable for heavy rain, large hail, lightning and tornado-producing storms, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Montgomery County until 10 p.m., with the possibility of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

A severe thunderstorm watch means that conditions are favorable for  extremely heavy rain, large hail, lightning and tornado-producing storms. 

The NWS had already issued another a heat advisory and code orange air quality alert for Wednesday, as excessive heat and humidity continues to steam the county. Wednesday's forecast for Germantown called for a high of 94 degrees, according to the NWS, but Thursday's high temperatures are expected to be cooler, in the 80s.
