SILVER SPRING—A Ride-On bus carrying passengers landed on the front yard of a Silver Spring home Monday morning, its front grill smashing into the home’s front door. Four passengers and the bus driver were sent to the hospital with minor injuries. . 

GAITHERSBURG—A 15-year-old student at Gaithersburg High School was seriously injured early Thursday when she was struck while riding her bicycle at the intersection of Route 124 (Woodfield Road) and Airpark Road. .

GERMANTOWN— Germantown homeowners arrived at their Steeple Court residence on a Saturday night to discover the lights on and two burglars inside, according to Montgomery County Police. . 

ROCKVILLE— A  that sent a Rockville woman to the hospital and killed three dogs was accidentally caused by improperly discarded smoking materials, county fire investigators concluded. .

POTOMAC—Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Joshua Starr has sent a letter officially allowing the farm to stay on the property for the time being.

WHEATON—Girl Scouts from Bowie joined their Japanese counterparts in a ceremony at Brookside Gardens to commemorate 50 years of international friendship, after two Girl Scout troops met for the first time in 1963 at a U.S. base in Japan.
