Help Local Youths. Donate Supplies to the Germantown Boys and Girls Club

'Staples For Students' will be collecting supplies until Sept. 28.

But pencils are a problem if your family can’t afford to buy the supplies on the teacher’s back to school list.

That’s why Staples and Boys and Girls Clubs of America are teaming up to round up plenty of supplies for its sixth annual Staples for Students drive. Teen actor Jake T. Austin is the official face of this year’s campaign.

Germantown Boys and Girls Club at 20906-A Frederick Road will be accepting donations until Sept. 28.

Staples plans to donate $125,000 worth of school supplies to kick start this year’s program. The campaign has raised nearly $3 million since 2008.

Local Boys and Girls Club chapters will get the supplies into the hands of youths who need them, according to a spokeswoman from Staples.
