Armed Suspect Shot to Death by Police in Germantown

Arriving officers heard gunfire in neighborhood; no other injuries reported.

A gunman in Germantown was shot and killed by police Monday night, according to Montgomery County police and several news accounts.

The man had told police he had shot two people in a house in the 19000 block of Red Robin Terrace, WUSA 9 reports.

According to initial Tweets from police, arriving officers heard gunfire in the neighborhood. Police said they encountered a person armed with a long gun who refused officers’ orders to put the weapon down, according to news accounts.

Police said the gunman was subsequently shot and killed.

No one else was injured, police said. The people to whom the suspect referred were alive and well, according to WUSA9.
