Arrest Made in Damascus Bank Robbery

Montgomery County Police found suspect in Florida

Montgomery County Police arrested a suspect in Margate, Fla., in connection to last week’s SunTrust Bank robbery in Damascus.

Upon extradition to Montgomery County, the suspect could face charges of armed robbery, use of a handgun in the commission of a felony and first-degree assault, Police said Wednesday.

Police responded to the report of a bank robbery at SunTrust Bank, 9916 Main St., at around 4 p.m. Thursday, April 4. According to police, the suspect entered the bank through the rear door, approached the teller, displayed a note and a handgun, and demanded money.  The suspect ran out of the front door after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash.
