Baby on Board: Woman Gives Birth on I-270

The special delivery happened near Germantown Road exit, WTOP reports.

A woman gave birth on the shoulder of Interstate 270 at the dawn of Thursday’s morning commute, according to a tweet from a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services spokesman.

Montgomery County emergency responders and Maryland State Police were called around 6:30 a.m. to southbound I-270, near the exit for Germantown Road, WTOP reports.

The woman was taken to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, WTOP reports.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Scott Graham sent this tweet around 7 a.m.: 

"MCFRS - Baby girl del prior to our arrival on 270. Transported to local hosp Mom, baby, and dad are all doing well. No further on this inc."
