Police: The bear was found and euthanized.

A car struck a bear on Interstate 270 near Father Hurley Boulevard Sunday morning, according to a tweet from Montgomery County police. There were no injuries to the car's passengers, but the bear had to be put down due to its injuries, police said.

Police said in another tweet that the estimated weight of the bear was not more than 150 pounds and that it did not have any tags on it.

Sunday's incident follows several recent sightings of a bear in Montgomery County and Washington, D.C.
