What's stupid is the Patch commenting system that won't keep my damn login from day to day, or make me log in BEFORE I try to comment, and instead loses my comments while I sign in. Gah! Ok, to summarize what got eaten. . . this guy is an idiot for not getting a hotel room and bringing only cash he needed. Escorting is only illegal if sex is involved. Otherwise, it's just something frowned on by society, and therefore something that tends to make you a victim if you're not careful. Good on him for calling the cops, because it takes balls to report it. As a note, this is no different than him answering a Craigslist ad for free sex and getting robbed, or getting robbed at a swingers club, etc. People take advantage because they know you likely won't say anything. That said, I'm not naive, and I get that this guy probably intended to pay for sex, and that's what most of these services really do (the ones that don't rip you off or actually do what they advertise anyway). But. . . INTENT IS NOT A CRIME. I may want to kill my wife some days, but unless I go through with it, there's no crime. I'll put it in similar terms that might resonate more with the mood of Patch commenters. . . If I buy a gun with the intent of shooting up a theater, and do so within federal and state gun laws, there is no crime. If I shoot someone, then I'm a criminal. Period. Anyone who says differently is trying to take away your rights. Anyone who believes it deserves none.

It's legal to sell your time. It's legal to have sex. Why is it illegal to sell sex? I love the police state crowd that just parrot laws that make virtually everything "illegal". I don't partake in escorts, that said there is a reason we have the highest incarceration rate on the PLANET. We are the most hypocritical country there is, land of the free doesn't mean anything if we don't actually practice what we preach. There is a reason the "war" on drugs and prohibition never works, it just makes the activities more dangerous for everyone involved. What two consenting Adults do behind closed doors affects no one else, but the tyranical elements in this society will always be against anyone engaging in activities they don't like. First they tried to come for the alcohol and people eventually fought back. Then they tried to come for the rock and roll and people eventually fought back. Now they've tried and failed miserably to take away drugs and people aren't able to fight back because we just throw them in jail. Legalize it, Regulate it, Tax it. Legalizing prostitution would help get the country out of the red immensely, lower the amount of crime, lower the amount of people in jails, provide services for the escorts and the clients, and do much more! The only downside is that the puritans will have one less smug victory to comfort them.

EXACTLY. Good on him for reporting it, even though the victim likely views it as an awkward or embarrassing situation. Bastante's response is awful.

Indeed. There are serious concerns about abuse (girls being taken advantage of because they're under 18, are mentally screwed up, etc.), but this country should long ago have learned that pushing things underground make them harder to regulate (and far more dangerous), not easier.

It's the problem of the man. He should have think about it before he got an escort. He should have taken cheap escort Sydney instead of others. http://www.sydneycheapescorts.com.au/
