VIDEO: Brush Fire Ignites Near Clopper Mill ES

A brush fire burned approximately two acres of land in the area of Gunners Branch Park behind Clopper Mill Elementary School tonight, officials said.

The fire burned for about an hour, starting shortly before 6 p.m., County Fire and Rescue spokesman Capt. Oscar Garcia said.

No one was injured and no buildings were damaged, he said.

It is too early to tell what might have caused the blaze, he said.

Two weeks ago another brush fire, accelerated by high winds and dry conditions, spread through a dozen acres of Germantown damaging several homes. The cause of that fire is still unknown.
