"I am thankful to have such a rewarding job and look forward to coming to work every day," Reynolds said. "Every officer in our district is here because they want to be—there is a waiting list of officers who wish to come to our district.  My team is strong and that makes the job rewarding and fun."

Among Reynolds' priorities for his new position is building the foundation of community policing.

"We cannot keep our communities safe by ourselves," Reynolds said. "We need the trust and support of our communities in order to best utilize our resources and serve."

In addition, Reynolds said he plans to focus on the crime and traffic issues that are affecting the lives, and increasing the perception of fear, of residents in the 5th district. He plans to achieve this mission through enforcement, education, engineering and partnership with residents of the community.

Outside of his work, Reynolds said he enjoys the fellowship and service of Covenant Life Church. He also enjoys reading, fitness activities, golf, date night with his wife and hanging out with his neighbors.

The 5th District includes Germantown, Clarksburg, Damascus, Darnestown, Poolesville, Laytonsville, Beallsville, Barnesville and Hyattstown.
