Crack Dealer Sentenced

Man received 12-year sentence for selling crack in Germantown.

A man from Frederick, Md., was sentenced Friday for selling crack in Germantown, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.

John Hamilton Kaine, 28, was sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release. U.S. District Judge Roger W. Titus rendered an enhanced verdict based on three prior drug convictions, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a press release.

Kaine’s sentence stems from an incident April 1, 2011, at Germantown Road and Wisteria Drive, where Montgomery County Police claimed to witness Kaine engage in two drug transactions. Police subsequently pulled Kaine over on the 12000 block of Warrior Brook Road, where he allegedly opened the passenger door and fled, tossing a plastic bag with 30 wrapped pieces of suspected crack, totalling 12.67 grams, according to what was stated in the plea agreement.
